Converting Waypoints from AutoCAD to the Trimble TSC1 GPS.

1. Export a point group using ENZPD (comma delimited) format to an ASCII text file.

 

2. Open exported Ascii file in Excel & Choose Delimited file type

 

3. Set Comma as the Delimiter

 


4. Keep Column data format as General

 

5. Your data will be separated into columns as below

 

6. Insert columns as shown to create the merged text field for point number and description.

 


7. Format all cells in the columns shown as Text

Then, in cells E1 & I1, enter a double quote mark (“). Finally, in cell G1, enter a hyphen (-).

 

8. Create a function in D1 to Concatenate cells E1-I1

 

9. Copy cells D1, E1, G1 & I1 for the whole range

 

10. Select range and copy (to clipboard)


11. Open Notepad and paste in the clipboard contents

 

12. Save to text file

 

13. Open Pathfinder Office

            File – Waypoints – ACSII Import

Click “OK” in the next dialog box…


14. Name the Waypoint File

 

15. Waypoint Properties Manager opens up

 

Close the Waypoints Properties Manager and follow the procedure for transferring files to the hand-held device.
